In 1980, Tom Moneta took off his suit and began the company as a one-man show. His eldest son Scott started with his father in the field and returned to the company in late 1990 after college; working in sales, designing, and managing his projects.

Leisure Living is a true family business, operating with its third-generation. We’ve been building and remodeling custom swimming pools, spas, water features and outdoor landscapes in Dallas, Plano, Frisco and the greater North Texas for more than 40 years.
Leisure Living Pools was originally one of only a handful of swimming pool builders in North Texas, with Tom Moneta being one of the first Certified PebbleTec Builders. We are currently and have been a member of the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA).

From the day we break ground, most custom pools in DFW take 10–16 weeks to complete. Permitting alone can take 2–6 weeks depending on the city and the time of year — we factor that into your schedule from day one. We'll give you a realistic timeline at your consultation and keep you updated throughout the entire build.
Fall — September through November — is the best time to start a pool build in DFW. Weather conditions are ideal for gunite and plaster work, contractor availability is better as the summer rush ends, and permit offices process applications faster. A fall start typically means a December–February completion, so you're swimming when spring arrives.
